His Excellency Hatoyama Yukio, Chief Advisor

H.E Hatoyama Yukio is a former Japanese politician who served as Prime Minister of Japan from 16 September 2009 to 2 June 2010. He was the first Prime Minister from the modern Democratic Party of Japan. In 2010, Time magazine's "Time 100" elected H.E as No. 6 among the 100 most influential people in the world. It said Hatoyama had "helped change his country from a de facto one-party state into a functional democracy", through the DPJ victory in the 2009 general election.

Chief Advisor's Message

I want to extend my heartfelt greetings to the members and staff of the Asia Economic Development Committee.

I am Yukio Hatoyama, who served as the 93rd Prime Minister of Japan.

Throughout the course of establishing a committee ahead of a new era of 21st century, Chairman Yoon, a person I pay respect to, has been discussing with me many times about founding Asia Economic Development Committee and its affiliated 46 major Asian country committees including Korea-Iran, Korea-Turkey, and Korea-Iraq Committee of Commerce and Industry.

I strongly agreed with the idea that Chairman Yoon suggested, and again, hereby would like to express my firm support for the catch phrase, "Develop Asia Economic Development Committee into an organization that covers East Asia, Middle East, and Africa."

As a dynamic institution for the digital age of the 21st century, Korea, Japan, and China will cooperate to contribute to economic development in the East Asia, Middle East and Africa. Furthermore, Japan and Korea, Japan and China will work together to help companies in need of our help to enter the Middle East and Africa, and help revitalize the economy. Besides, we expect that China and Japan, China and Korea will work together to establish and develop momentum to secure international economic power among companies and strengthen economic cooperation among the whole ASEAN.

I look forward to the role of the Asia Economic Development Committee and will continue to work as an advisor to put my capabilities to the fullest. I believe that Chairman Yoon's leadership will greatly contribute to the educational and cultural projects along with the economic development of developing countries.

May God bless your families and businesses.

the 93rd Prime Minister of Japan

Chief Advisor of Asia Economic Development Committee
